Evening 8th of June, #RAF Typhoon aircraft based in #Estonia and Swedish #Gripen aircraft were reportedly "mobilized" to intercept two #Russian aircraft "flying near Swedish and #NATO airspace." #British fighter jets took off on Friday morning as Russian planes flew south of Russia towards #Kaliningrad. British jets #intercepted Russian planes over Gulf of Finland and #Baltic Sea. Later, British airmen would have received reinforcements from Finnish Army aircraft.

According to #Moscow, this is the second such incident in just one week. On Tuesday, a #Russian fighter jet is said to have #intercepted two US Air Force #bombers over the Baltic Sea.

A formation of 3 #Russian military aircraft has been #intercepted by 2 Dutch #F35 #FighterJets, according to #Dutch Defense Ministry. "The planes, which were unknown at the time, were approaching Polish #NATO territory from #Kaliningrad," the ministry said in a statement. "After identification, it turned out to be three aircraft: a Russian IL-20M Coot-A escorted by two Su-27 flankers. The Dutch F-35s handed over the escort to NATO partners."
