hey #vintage #wallpaper people, give me a hand! all of these are vintage and I’m pretty sure 1950s or before but could be well older, as old as 1920s.

I’ve encountered bits of all three previously and always assumed the colour was due to layers of paint or something on top but I found these stacked in _six_ layers deep in a wall and they’re exactly the same.

So what are these and did they originally look like this and/or how were they _supposed_ to be treated or what?

Elle se dressait là depuis des centaines d'années, refuge des plumes et des artistes qui, entre ses murs, brisaient de leur imagination les limites. Entre ses murs ils étaient légions, personnages et histoire murmurant de l'aube au crépuscule. Elle bruissait jusqu'à son arrivée. Le conteur entre ses murs s'avançait, franchissait le couloir d'un pas rapide. Grande était sa hâte lorsqu'enfin il la retrouva, sa plume perdue.
