The severity varies. This is not stopping me from appearing in public or on TV! Most often - I don’t give a damn what anonymous others may think abt my blinking, wandering eyes, my funny faces. But! Please be considerate. Not everyone feels comfortable disclosing their disabilities. Living with one does not make those any less felt or less real. We are ridiculed, mocked, laughed at. Today is #InternationalDayOfPeopleWithDisabilities. Bcs of LC, and thanks to #NHS, I have recently been diagnosed with not one but two rare long-term autoimmune conditions. One is myasthenia gravis, where the immune system damages the communication system between the nerves and muscles, making the muscles weak and easily tired. In my case, it affects the eyes and face but is spreading to other parts of the body. For now, it affects my eyes, eyelids, my facial expressions, breathing.
