This may be strange to say, but I think I'm an Easter Egg in this?

I helped playtest this, and some of my favorite Electric Bastionland / Into the Odd characters of all time from our group were included in the draft sent for editing. IDK if they survived the editing process.

23. Produit/livre JDR au look le plus COOL : pour moi ce sera #IntoTheOdd. Le format A5 du livre est parfait pour moi, il est compact, comprend un petit signet bien pratique, le papier ne brille pas et est agréable au toucher. Quand au contenu, la mise en page est aérée, le texte bien lisible et les illustrations inspirantes 🤩

Day 4's #RPGaDAY2023 prompt is "Most recent game bought." Were I to have filled this out on August 4th, the answer would've been #BlackSwordHack. However since I'm filling this out on August 6th, the answer is #intoTheOdd. (I drove to Kalamazoo Michigan to pick up a hard-copy from Fanfare games.)

I'm really digging the genre of "inspired by #dnd yet stripped and refined and bent towards a particular style."

3. First RPG bought this year

#IntoTheOdd. I had bee looking forward to reading it for a while, and it is pretty good! I get why it spun a lot of hacks around it. I added it to our options for campaign 2, it wasn't selected but I'll probably play it at some point

In the biggest upset to my campaign 2 predictionsthe group has decided we will play #Mausritter

I would have been happy with any of the eight options, but this was unexpected, I was sure the group would go for #TheMechaHack, it's all they've been talking about for a couple of weeks

I think the demo we had last well went well, but it probably scratched the itch for a #mecha game so they decided for this one

I am of the "I won't ever run #5e" camp. I will play in it, to observe the style of play and then pull the "Hey, I wanna run D&D...I have some house rules." Then bust out #DCC #blackSwordHack #blackHack #OSE #whiteHack #intoTheOdd or some such thing.

Why? Because #5e is so very non-GM facing. And I'd rather not. Also, much of what I've seen in "actual play" would be better served with less character abilities.

@pteryx @OskarGhoti Honestly... I don't really want to play D&D-like games anymore. About the only one I still enjoy is 13th Age.

If I want to play heroic fantasy (which, honestly, is far from my favotite genre), I'd prefer playing an NSR game like Black Sword Hack or Into the Odd, a narrative-focused RPG like Dungeon World, or a skill-based level-less game like Swords of the Serpentine.

Read #Mausritter. I don't know why I hadn't before, it seems great, I knew it was a bit #IntoTheOdd and a bit #Knave but it goes so freaking hard on both of those things. Like if you want to play ito you should probably be playing mausritter unless you absolutely want to play ito instead, same for knave

Is it cute? Just a bit. But it's much more lethal and, in a sense, terrifying than the games that make up it's DNA

And I think it could be so absurdist. I want to play it
