If you're visiting the #Philly area, it's worth trying a cheesesteak. Within 50 miles of #Philadelphia, just about any local pizzeria will have a decent cheesesteak. No need to go anywhere special.

Like onions? Get onions.
Cheese wiz, American, and Provolone are all reasonable options; get what you like. That's all: it's simple fare.

You can ask for green peppers or mushrooms, but now it's a pepper steak or a mushroom steak.

Some of my roles include Parent, Spouse, Teacher, Union Rep, Artist, Gardener, Musician, Settler/Refugee, Activist.

Left Twitter after 13 years there. Now learning the ways of Mastodon, looking to keep up with breaking news and actions.

Glad that there's a space such as this one. I think there is another one but this one is the only one that's open for now so glad that you allowed me in here.

I know thanks to how Mastodon works I could just interact with people from this instance but since I'm allowed to be here I'm happy it works out fine.

The one type of community that won me over was #Neurodiversity. Also at least 1 #autistic I know told me he's given up on Autistic communities and was putting all his faith and hope into Neurodiversity.

Myself I engaged with Autistic communities mainly to learn more about myself and to ponder and think whether the original #Aspergers diagnosis was correct or not, I wanted to make up my own mind about it. So I have, went through a lot and still here with so much more to learn and still so many to interact with.

Awaiting my #FutureEpiphany and #AhaMoments.

#introductorypost #twittermigration Hello Mastadon! I'm setting up this account while I see whether Twitter utterly implodes or not. Um, stuff about me:
- I'm American, but try not to hold that against me
- I'm ideologically #antifascist and #anarchist
- I'm a former #ballet dancer and current ballet teacher/school director
- I love my nonbinary spouse and my #LGBTQ+ friends
- I've read a lot of Jane Austen. By that I mean that I've read all her novels at least once, but I also mean that I've read Pride and Prejudice over 30 times and will frequently quote it in situations where I find it applicable.
- Religiously I'm Christian, I guess what you would consider #exvangelical as I have actively tried to analyze and deconstruct the worldview I was raised to have in order to create one that is more true to the values I currently hold
- I am anonymous online for my safety and that of the people around me
- I like doing #yoga, reading #terrypratchett, watching #breadtube, and occasionally baking. I can sew too, but I'm not great at it
- I'm starting to see why Twitter has a character limit.
