I see the attribute modifiers in d20-related systems, and I can't help but wonder why they don't just use a scale from 1 to 10. Wouldn't that be more intuitive for humans steeped in decimals? It's effectively the same progression.

Despite browsing web pages since 1994, I feel I'm still slightly tripping through Mastodon as I adapt to its mechanic.

Personally, I don't find it to be the most design, but it's far from unpleasant.

and with what I believe to be real as opposed to bots is quite refreshing 😏

Quite often my first year students indicate due to a by the area marked with blue lines. I find the red-shaded area much more . A friend came over with kid to ask for help with his homework and I noticed their shows this same non-intuitive option. The red area is more intuitive, right?
