If you're thinking about doing #Invisalign or a similar clear aligners system to improve your teeth, you should absolutely do it if the cost isn't prohibitive to you.
I just finished a 16 month treatment cycle. I declined it for years because I thought it was just a cosmetic procedure.
It's more than that. I've had a lifetime of somewhat bad dental and gum health and both have improved in the past year as my teeth straightened out.
The discomfort wasn't too bad. I only took pain killers a couple of days in my 16 months of adjustment and only 3-4 days a month were uncomfortable.
The main drawback is it makes eating out awkward and snacking difficult. Given Covid, the former wasn't an issue for me, but you can't eat with them on so if you graze throughout the day, it'll be a major inconvenience.
I wish I had done this years ago.
Anyone got some ideas on how to reduce the pain from #invisalign? These chompers be throbbin'!
Never use toothpaste with your #invisalign trays. It damages them, gives them white marks.
Use the tooth brush and just water and they'll remain transparent.
I used to care alot about the cleanliness of my #invisalign aligners during the first batch of 48.
Now on the second batch of 54, I'm drinking wine with them on, I don't give a flying f***, I'm an INVISALIFER now. :emo:
Resistance is futile.
My overbite is 1/3 of what it was though.
I'm becoming an expert at breaking (on purpose) my #invisalign trays to make a hook on both sides. Today (new tray every 7 days) I've done it in under a minute.
One of the main advantages of intermittent fasting is the fact I don't have to spend the day putting in an out my #invisalign trays.
And so we start with the food getting stuck in the artificially created gap between my back molars. #invisalign
Jesus-fucking-Christ and I'm only in the #2 of #54 "refinements".
FOR
FUCK'S
SAKE!
Waiting until at least 8:30am to go to my dentist to finally have an idea of what is going on and get out of there with the next tranche of aligner trays #invisalign is a nightmare.
Look at my face of palpable joy!!

Also if you are thinking about #Invisalign, I think it's really useful to know that name brand Invisalign from my local, highly qualified actual orthodontist was the same cost as Smile Direct or Brite Club where you take your own impressions and are monitored via an app. It was a much better process and I have zero regrets doing it that way.
Dental assistant: That's great, you are ready to start your #Invisalign journey!
Me: Are you kidding me?
Her: Sorry, some people are REALLY into it.
Anyway that was 6 months ago and I am now done with the "journey" to close the gap in my front teeth cause by my nephew slamming his head into my teeth 7 years ago. 10/10 would recommend.
Dear Lord in which I don't believe please make me need no #invisalign refinements, please.

I have lost my #Invisalign retainer IN SOMEONE ELSE'S HOUSE.
This is obviously ideal for all of us.
Never ever again with #vitaldent or #Invisalign I swear. What a bunch of incompetents.
I did the math & realised I'm short by 1 aligner to the next appointment. Went to their clinic & asked for it since they have them all (not sure why, I paid them). I had to threaten with filing a complaint to get aligner 46. They said my dentist had to approve them and if not I had to waste a week wearing the same ones. Sure, over my dead body. You're not delaying my treatment because your processes suck. πͺ
#Invisalign week 3 commenced, and I moved on to my 2nd set of trays π The first few days, when my teeth started moving at all, were the worst. I had to take painkillers every few hours.
It stabilised afterwards, I think they moved into the desired position and stayed there for 1.5 week without annoying me at all. (Other than having to take the trays off for eating, of course.)
Only 32 weeks to go! π₯²
Sorry in advance for all my #Invisalign related posts. You'll have to put up with me for at least another 62 weeks.
I thought now that the #invisalign is moving just the 6 most frontal teeth it'll inconvenience me less.
Oh boy, I was wrong.
I feel an army of minions pulling my teeth back. There's no pain but I notice the pressure.
@Brendanjones with #invisalign I change aligners every 7 days, the pain is inexistent past the first night. Is as if that night is the one that does the job and the remaining 6 days is just letting the teeth settle on their new place.
You should not speed this up or you might suffer from root reabsorption.
I wouldn't even call that first night pain, actual ...PAIN. But rather discomfort. It's nowhere near the headaches I got from metal.
What else do you want to know?
