This seems like a very shortsighted decision by Dublin City Council. I hope Irish Rail take it to An Bord Pleanála.

It also illustrates an ongoing problem where there is a lack of coordination and consistency on climate action among different agencies of the state.

Copying the successful Deutschland ticket, Portugal goes for a €49 monthly regional rail pass. The National Rail Pass does not include High Speed services, certain regional services, and urban rail in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra.

Taking the train to my parents and leaving the car at home. If it’s just one person travelling, it’s much cheaper when you take into account tolls. Now… if only I could get a coffee on board #irishrail

I am standing at Howth Junction platform one week on from last time i was here, and there's a display for the stations with no working lifts.

I think 3 are different to last week, and 1 is the same. Do Irish Rail only have a set number of lifts, and they move them around every week?

The Dublin Cork train "quiet carriage" is nearly empty (like most of the train). We had barely left the station when someone started up a phone call beside me. They were good to end it as soon as their location was pointed out. This service might actually work! #QuietCarriage #IrishRail #trains
