I would like to raise a question for the announced Q&A episode of your podcast #IsThisDemocracy, but I'd like to start by pointing out that I'm writing from Germany. If you want to answer questions that reach you from the US with priority: just feel free to do so.

My question to you refers to the thesis in an article at #TheNation, which in turn refers to the book by @pastpunditry.

According to this article, the #Centrism of the *#Democrats* during #BillClinton's presidency in the 1990s played a significant role in the radicalization of the #Republicans, which in turn is presented as the birth moment of #Trumpism.

What do you think of this? Is that plausible for you?

I listened to the new episode of the #IsThisDemocracy podcast today. There @tzimmer_history in his conversation with @LilyMasonPhD and @perrybacon makes the point that there are no moderate #Republicans. Those who are considered "moderate" today were the radicals yesterday, and are considered moderate today only because there are now even more radicals. Those who go along with this line of thinking move themselves further and further to the right over time. That is why it is so dangerous to think so.
