Buzza Hill, a Scillonian chambered tomb for #TombTuesday. Situated on a headland above Porth Cressa, St Mary's, there were formerly two tombs here but the other was destroyed by the erection of a windmill.
According to #folklore, the name derives from a giant called Bosow who was buried here. When Borlase was excavating the tomb, work had to be stopped due to a violent thunder storm, which locals said was the anger of the giants.

The Great Tomb on Porth Hellick Down, St Mary's, Isles of Scilly for today's #TombTuesday
Porth Hellick Down has half a dozen of these Scillonian entrance graves, but only this one has been restored (not altogether faithfully). In the summer the turfed top of the mound is a carpet of wild flowers.

Two fantastic Scillonian chambered tombs at Innisidgen on St Mary's, Isles of Scilly for #TombTuesday.
Late Neolithic, these tombs are formed of a single passage with an entrance at one end, roofed with large slabs of granite. A circular cairn of stones surrounds the chamber, retained within a granite kerb.

Hey there, old friend 🐋💙 there is something very wonderful about not only seeing a whale, but the very same whale that you last saw nearly two years ago. After some serious rock scrambling, at one point it was about 20ft away 💙 #scilly #islesofscilly

For #TombTuesday this is Bant's Carn on St Mary's, Isles of Scilly.
It's a Neolithic or early Bronze Age "Scillonian" chambered tomb, consisting of a single passage-shaped chamber
roofed with large granite slabs, with an entrance at one end. A circular mound with a granite kerb surrounds the chamber.
It is situated on the crest of Halangey Down, above a fine Bronze Age settlement site, and was partially restored in the 1970s.
