@afif @IceCubesApp I try not to criticise #icecubesapp but the sounds are a little harsh, (but not as harsh as those in #MammothApp), especially the compose sound. One thing I do prefer about #IvoryApp are the unobtrusive sounds.

I was looking at #ivory, the Mastodon app which comes with some promising recommendations. But I can’t actually try it out—e.g. by posting a couple of things—without subscribing. And there are so many “free trial—cancel in seven days” offers out there that make it impossible to cancel that I’m reluctant to set up a payment without being able to trial it.

It must be possible for #ivoryapp to give me the chance to actually use it—12 toots, say—before I pay it money.

I stayed with #icecubesapp for the time being and watch the development of #IvoryApp. I am not ready to pay a subscription but then again i don’t need to.

@onlinegoddess I’ve gone for #icecubesapp instead of #IvoryApp. I need time to get to know it before paying for Ivory.

Ah, so #IvoryApp is subscription based and rendered essentially useless if in demo mode. Would’ve been nice to see this info on AppStore. Maybe I missed it, or maybe it wasn’t there. And now… surpriiiise! Sigh.

It's already out of date, though.

#IvoryApp isn't in alpha, but "Early Access". And it's missing a note that Ivory is also "paid", like the others thus marked.

I'd enjoy a better list than this. This is an odd admixture of sometimes the GitHub link, sometimes the FediVerse account, and sometimes the Apple Store link. For many, one can do all three.

@t3kk compiled a list of 2 out of the 3. Perhaps we can get that put in. I sense an issue. (-:

It's overshadowing the fact that there are at least a dozen existing #FediVerseApp s for iOS in the Apple Store, #IvoryApp and even IceCubes being years late to the party.

Tooot from @tooot, for example, or Oyakodon from @isaotakeyasu, or Osakadon from @osakadon_ios, or Tootle from @tootleapp, ... and so forth. I merely looked at "you might also like" in the Apple Store. (-:

Tried out Ivory, the Mastodon app. Nice interface, smooth. Can’t toot without paying subscription. Removed the app and back to stock Mastodon app 😁 Sorry, but demo should at least have core functionality included. #IvoryApp
