@Tony_Meredith thanks. I've edited to clarify. While they have recommended boosters for specific groups, a wider rollout is desirable. has overall taken a minimalist view , not properly acknowledging how infections/re-infections can undermine the immune system & lead to further complications (even for the 'healthy'). THey have been reluctant re kids vax, unlike comparable countries. How they define risks of hospital admissions, deaths is also problematic imo.

Unless you are in a clinical risk group or a health care worker etc, if you are under 64 thinks it's ok if you get infected. In the past the booster was offered to a wider age group & also to kids. The belief in hybrid immunity/ mass infection still seems to persist.
‘Cost effectiveness’ is ‘considered by age group & clinical risk group’ disregarding risks of , excess deaths & overall health/wellbeing gov.uk/government/publications

Unfortunate closure of the current programme From the Dept of Health & Social Care

"We're making changes to the Covid vaccination programme for 2023 after new advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination & Immunisation ().

On 12 February in England:
▶️ the autumn vaccination campaign 2022 will close
▶️ initial boosters for 16-49 year-olds not in a clinical risk group will end

Please come forward if you're eligible and haven’t been vaccinated yet."
