TIL that since its inception there have only been 100 (yes, one hundred) registered 🇪🇺 European Citizens' Initiatives (#EIC) to this day.

I knew this tool is complicated, it's very, very hard to meet the quotas, and completely unknown to a vast part of the EU population.

But that it would be *this* bad... wow.

Back in 2017 with #JEF Young European Federalists from Darmstadt and Strasbourg I co-organised a seminar on #AI and its societal and political implications.
The resolution that resulted from the participants' work was adopted by #JEF Germany [1] in 2018, and later adopted by #JEF Europe in 2019 and amended in 2022 [2].

Now, that the news are crazy with #ChatGPT & Co. and their implications, I'm a bit proud on our effort almost 6 years ago.
