If you start at Bristol, Tennessee (NE corner of the state), Detroit is closer to it than Memphis is, despite Memphis being in the same state.
We’ve seen something similar with the #JETAlumniAssociation/#JETAA - PA’s grouped with NYC (because of Philly…300 miles away). But Pittsburgh’s #JETProgram applicants usually apply through DC’s consulate and fly out of DC. And DC, Detroit, and Toronto - also JETAA chapter cities - are closer to us than NY. 😆
