@dentangle That's the thing, though, you're not far off.

We have two kind of distinct shared universes.

There's #JupitersGhost or #jg which is a CC-BY-SA 4.0 licensed podcast about a crew in space doing a star trek but without the military.

There have been cartoons, comics, short stories, and even a few computer games set in that universe already, and we're still working on the third episode of the podcast.

Our Captain Video show and Tales from the space corps are set in the same universe, several hundred years earlier. (these are in production and haven't been released yet)

Then there's the Expedition Sasquatch/Paramount Paranormal Pest Control/Dispatches from the New Ellijay Autonomous Zone/etc. shared universe where a lot of the other stuff we have planned will live.

All of that is set in a kind of Alt!Ellijay where the paranormal is just normal, the National government has more or less stopped functioning, and what's left are a bunch of people trying to take care of one another while also dealing with ghosts and monsters.

There's podcasts and shows in that universe out already, and more coming.

But we're getting ready to tell lots of new stories unrelated to the first three episodes, and there has never been a better time to join the crew on their mission of mutual aide in deep space.

It's well past time that we finish episode 3 of Jupiter's ghost and get on a regular cadence for release of that show.

I have been slacking, and for that I apologize. If it's any consolation, I've been miserable, but I won't be much longer!

It is of value to raise the topic of the #JobGuarantee, but as you said, unfortunate that she didn't correct the questioner about "welfare" & #JG.
She has her agenda & has grabbed the concept of a JG for that purpose.

We published a magazine last night.

We'll have another episode of #JG out in a week or so.

We have an art gallery opening in a few weeks.

There's lots to do, but it's going well.

Also tomorrow, assuming the paint job goes well, we'll do Jupiter's Ghost lunchboxes too!

Or we won't, it depends on a dozen other things.

I also started laying out a #JupitersGhost #Zine today.

This is a rough copy printed on our cheap printer on copy paper.

When we make it for real, it will get printed on the nicer printer and on a high gloss magazine paper.

I still need to price out how much that's going to cost us, but uhhh it won't be cheap look at all that ink.

Regardless, it *looks* wonderful.

Looking to get this zine finished within two weeks.

I put this episode out today, warts and all, because I think it's pretty good, and I think it gives the impression of what could be in a meaningful way.

I could have put another 10 hours in to it, but I don't have another 10 hours to spare in the next three weeks. It was now or three months from now, and I chose now.

Having seen the finished result, I'm almost sold.

I'm going to wait and see what the rest of the #jg crew and the rest of the #NETV crew have to say about it, but I think we've come pretty close to cracking the minimum viable TV show.

So here's some speculation about the kinds of things we could create in the Jupiter's Ghost universe in the next several months:

- Toys: We've already started working on new better Silent Helper toys, and the Silent Helpers feature throughout Jupiter's Ghost. We also have a sculpt in progress for some Randros figures.

- Comics: I can think of a few different ways we could put an ongoing comic together, but the simplest way would be using the same tools we use to make the cartoon. I think this might end up being *more* effort than what we have planned for the cartoon at the moment, but we'll see.

- Books and Zines: I have a couple of flash fiction and short story ideas set in the #JG universe, and I'm sure there are other folks who do to! I'd love to get some short fiction, flash fiction, serial fiction, etc together and release a Zine or a paperback

- T-shirts: We need to get several Space Corps and Jupiter's Ghost T-shirts put together. Maybe some other merch too.

On the agenda for later today:
-Some #JupitersGhost promotion/recruiting moves
-Writing some #JG songs?!
-More likely just fiddling with my recording set up to facilitate song writing on another day this week.

@jandrews I had a ton of fun working on this episode, and the next couple are going to be really great.

You may have seen me talk about #JupitersGhost or #JG at various points in the past over the last, what, 7 years? We're still not ready for Full Publicity Mode, and things might break, but I'm ready to have other people involved.

I still need to move us to a bigger server, and there are still a couple of minor things that need to be tightened up or made more clear, but ... I think it all works.

@hairylarry @ajroach42 @Username_Here_ASAP The possibilities of a CC-BY-SA open universe like we're creating are very inspiring to me tbh. My wildest dreams is for stories set in the universe to be written across multiple mediums one day by folks we don't even know. That would be amazing.

Keep an eye out on the #JG and #JupitersGhost hashtags for the latest on this project. What we're building is intended to be a community effort and soon enough we'll be rolling out a way for new folks to plug in.

Now it's Wildly optimistic to think that something like my little #jg podcast would get the kind of support that #starTrekNewVoyages got.

But it is an entirely open scifi universe written by myself and my friend @Username_Here_ASAP and we'll have episodes out starting in q1 next year.

I started reading a book called The Employees because it was recommended to me, and also because the premise sounded vaguely like the format of #jg.

It is vaguely formatted like #JupitersGhost, but is significantly less conventional, and pretty unsettling.

Got somewhere around 1/4 of the way done with the most time consuming part of the Bookkeeping Project That Can't Be Finished this morning. Did some #JG work while I was making my partners coffee before work. Not a bad start to a day.

Anyway, what I want to talk about instead of downer stuff is that I successfully wrote and recorded some voice acting for #JG #JupitersGhost over the weekend and it was so much fun! It was short and I had to do a couple of sentences at a time to get it right but it was something I've never done and it was really cool to just ..jump in! This is the thing y'all! Our goal is for this to be a broadly accessible space for anyone who wants to flex their creative muscles for a community-sourced work of science fiction.
