Ich würde eher sagen: Informierte Leute sagen #GIF um Verwechselungen mit #JFIF aus dem #JPEG-Format zu vermeiden.

@criadoperez @pixelfed @dansup That was a bad joke. #HEIF and #AV1 is patented to hell and beyond, nobody in their sane mind would use it for anything but for a bad example.
#WebP is free of patent trolls and copyright claims.
And the next one will be, possibly, #JPEG-XL, which is/will be also free of patents.
