I'm listening to Slate's #PoliticalGabfest and right after criticizing #RFKjr for being antivax etc, they run a promo for a new show. It's about the opioid crisis, and it mentions how Purdue's claims that oxycontin was safe and not addictive were bullshit. That over two decades, half a million have died from opioid overdoses. #RFKjr just talked about that on #JRE. This kind of thing drives his view of the world, and that of many others. It sucks but they have their reasons to distrust experts.

It's really frustrating when people like Trump can tell lies to his supporters and they just believe him cause they aren't being exposed to alternative perspectives, right? That's why having Bret Baier challenge him to his face about his lies recently was so great, right?

Listening to #RFK on #JRE and thinking maybe I need to look into this more...and then he starts talking about the dangers of #WiFi. Yes, I believe corporations will do basically anything to make more money and it's vital that as citizens we fight that corruption. But they haven't won all these battles yet. When you think they have, it's easy to slide from correlation to causation. What are the biological mechanisms? He seems to believe it all and be well-versed. I need to hear him debate.

it was ridiculous for Matt to allow Musk to dictate the secret terms of the #TwitterFiles, but he's also correct that the release of any information is going to be limited and biased by the person releasing the information. I remember listening to that #JRE episode and wanting to yell at him that he is violating his own standards working with Elon. I love him and Greenwald etc but they are falling in with a bad crowd.

Listening to #MattTaibbi on #JRE is so frustrating. The free speech absolutism that they claim to want, that they claim #birdsite now supports, actually only exists here. I can accept that they don't understand the #fediverse yet, but they know Musk hasn't stuck to his own principles. That he bans Alex Jones and is fucking with what people see with the algorithm much more than the previous owners ever did. I can't even find a way to contact Matt outside of his account over there.
