I finished it! Every time I draw a "simple" character view like this, I try not to get mired in tedious detail (I save that for bigger works)... but I still don't have a fast technique for colouring that looks good enough to me. So yet again this took longer than I'd hoped. 😔

✏️ There was a challenge a while back to draw something (mostly) lineless with the Cartoon Network logo palette. I'd never done lineless before, and this took me a while (realizing afterwards I could have probably just done it with lines then erased them). And I did it using pure CMYK but discovered halfway through that the colours were actually darker than that.
ANYWAY, it turned out reasonably in spite of it all!

I came up with Jillian just over a year ago. I had some design ideas I wanted to put on a character, and I worked on making her shamelessly cute.

I used to draw in pencil. I like how the shading and texture turned out, which I've never managed to properly replicate digitally.
But I've since found digital methods that I like just as much, plus it's far easier to fix big honkin' sections of an image.
