Close-up on the cluster in #JWST image of NGC-6822.

Galaxy NGC-6822 by #JWST, NIRCam. It is one of the closest to us. There are a few star-forming regions there (see the cluster?), probably caused by passing by the Milky Way some 4B years ago.

SN 1987A by #JWST, NIRCam, using 3 filters and some sharpening.

#JWST data from supernova 1987a was released. There are some 12 files capturing different frequencies, so there is much to explore. here is an image combining MIRI (red) and some of the NIRCam filters that cover the area (no black stripes).

#JWST, NIRCam, The target refers to the snake filaments near the center of our galaxy, but I don't know where the radio frequency snake is with respect to this IR image. I see dust-gas dimming in a diagonal line, allowing redder light to pass through.

The #JWST takes this amazing view of the remnant of the death of a massive star about 19 times the mass of the Sun in the Large Magellanic Cloud, ~160,000 light years away.

SN1987A is the closest observed supernova since Kepler’s Supernova lit up the Milky Way in 1604. There should be a neutron star at the center of the explosion, but so far has not been seen.
