Puzzle/treat toys are great for your dogs, which helps them use both smell and problem solving. Especially with higher energy dogs that need the stimuli. Use low calorie small dog treats or natural like unsalted peanuts.

I feel like if I'm gonna make this my new conversational internet home, it's time for some #DogsOfMastodon action!

First we have Lucy, the 17-year-old #JackRussell cross miniature #FoxTerrier rescue dog who is deaf, blind, probably a little senile, and with failing kidneys. The vet said she had two weeks left in her about three months ago - I think she's improving just to spite our vet. As soon as she was given a time limit she doubled how much she ate and got much more active. Nickname: Borkinator 5000.

Next we have Dusty, a rescued #Kelpie cross NZ #Huntaway who will be six on Christmas Day. He has only On or Off mode, is a complete velcro dog, runs like the wind, and is the most trainable dog I've ever had. He is also a total sook who is scared of thunder and will try to crawl into your arms in a storm. Thinks he's a lap dog. Nickname: The Goodest Boi.

Finally we have River, a rescued Kelpie cross Fox Terrier, who will be 11 on New Year's Day. She is a nervous wreck who is doing better now that she's on daily Prozac. She runs from sheep, but is an amazing mouser and ratter. She blew out the ligaments in both knees, so she sits by taking all her weight on her front legs and tucking herself in with core strength alone. As a result she's got toothpick back legs but amazing shoulders and thick obliques. Nickname: Chonkadonkadonk.

Spinal cord injury in 1986 horse riding. Had to learn to walk again.
A single mom in the 1980s oh what fun that was.
20 years on the corporate sector.
Then 13 years in aged care ending 2021 where the pandemic burnt me out.
Still riding and competing in #dressage as a disabled rider on my Welsh pony until the pandemic.
Now Studying Counselling. Loving it.
Unemployed currently because there seems to be plenty of work but not if your disabled🙈🙉🙊

Who am I?
Lliving up north in QLD. Spinal cord injury survivor. Mother to a daughter and grandmother to 2 girls. I love my scifi and fantasy in all it's forms since I was 5 and that is along time ago.

I am not doing much right now but working on fixing that. I am a amateur photographer and videographer as well as an avid gardener of vegetables.

I have a pony that I train in #dressage and a #jackrussell terrier called Buffy because she is a slayer who rocks and beautiful.
