In #SouthAfrica this morning, a court ruling has opened the door to former President #JacobZuma going back to jail.

His people have literally, well, they'll say warned, but it sure reads like threatened, a repeat of deadly and hugely destructive rioting in #KwaZuluNatal if that were to happen.

Of particular interest to us Mastodon type: last time around, the allegation has it, violence was stoked by Twitter. Which is currently unmoderated.

The constitution codifies a negotiated settlement. Compromises were made. In the new situation, the ANC was able to thrive politically, to the point that some members want to pretend that they "won the war." Cubans & Angolans did more to defeat apartheid.
