So all you need to do to speed up your #Jenkins checkouts is to upgrade two stupid CentOS 7 server to Rocky Linux.
Well, for one thing "just" was three hours of my life solving dependency hell, because CentOS 7 -> 8 is not a supported migration and 8 is practically dead.
And the other thing is that it's unrelated to the OS itself. I meant to update Git to the latest version. My Jenkins controller and Gerrit were both using Git 1.8.x. Now I've got 2.3x.y and it's fast as hell.😁
