@Zero2beach Sadly it's a very common type of #Scam #Payment, as numerous videos by #JimBrowning, #Kitboga and other #Scambaiter|s have shown.

#GiftCards are a common #ModiOperandi to do #MoneyLaundering of small to medium amounts, as #Banks are highly regulated and #Currency flows well monitored, but #GiftCards are seen as a #fungible option with far lower conversion losses than #Bitcoin or #Monero as there is a big market for buying and selling these second-hand.

Just look take #JimBrowning, for example, a top tier YouTube scam baiter, who had his account momentarily deleted by a scammer:

One time I was hooked by a scammer, but that only lasted about 1 minute. Then I played them for an hour pretending I was on my way to get gift cards to pay my electric bill.
