Pope John Paul II and pedophile priests becomes Poland’s a top political issue. The country’s ruling party wants to convert reports that the pontiff turned a blind eye toward child abuse into electoral rocket fuel.

Although the canonized Polish pontiff has been dead since 2005, he’s become the hottest subject in Poland following an explosive documentary alleging that he protected priests accused of sexually molesting children.
