Went to Birmingham and Midlands Institute library & waiting for v knowledgeable (& witty) librarian, spotted this book when walked into library - dad’s favourite poet John #betjeman (so apt) & signed by #johnpiper.
The library wild & wonderful, including early 19thC books wrapped in newspaper in 1977. 😱. One on Agrippina from 1804 - my favourite Roman - and written by regency female educator & writer Elizabeth Hamilton.
