🎧 When I find myself in a funkyfunk (an hour ago). I'll put on a know-will-work feel-good song, on a loop.

I added a new old-reliable today—#JonBatiste's "The Light Shines Brightest in the Dark" from "Marlowe"—the title is a riff on "John 1:5."

Batiste wrote the music and lyrics with #NickWaterhouse who co-produced and played percussion. They recorded live on open-reel tape with no edits / overdubs. #JoshieJoArmstead is singing these #blues! 🔥 ❤️

🎧 "Moon River" won the #Oscar for "Best Original Song" (Hepburn sang it in "Breakfast at Tiffany's"). The song also won the #Grammy for Best Record and Song of the Year (1962).

I fell in love with the song, truly, in New Orleans in 1987 when a jazz band played it every night in the bar that became my regular on that holiday.
