#journalism Most AMAZING graphical reporting on #disabilities in the workplace! The author’s honesty is almost comical; his interviewees can’t make these stories up.
For instance, having a condition & being branded as “unfriendly” for not participating in camaraderie. In my own experiences, coworkers fail to understand that meeting up & drinking during Happy Hours exasperates health issues. Instead, they labeled me as “religious.”
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.🍹

"These are the stakes: dueling visions for America — not #Democratic or #Republican... but brutal #fascism or flawed #democracy. The #news media needs to stop with the horse-race coverage...
We need to hear from more experts on authoritarian movements, and fewer pollsters...
We need the media to see 2024 not as a traditional election but as an effort to mobilize a mass movement that would undo democracy"

Repetition cannot create TRUTH,
but repetition can create BELIEF.
Repeating lies, even with the purpose of debunking them, can convince more people to believe the lies.
Please, do NOT repeat lies in your headlines, in your ledes, and especially not as the only text in your social media posts.
Instead, state the truth... REPEATEDLY.

I suspect we'll see more talk, less news. Seems to be the money-making trend these days. And let's face it, that's all it's about now.

On the danger of covering politics like a horse race:
“A horse race confers an equivalence upon all candidates. The only detail that matters is who is going to win — not all that might be lost. To view America through that lens today is an exercise in the absurd, a practice stuck in the insular logic of the past.”

"It is not as though #journalists are unfamiliar with serious analysis. The #media manages to expose elected foreign leaders who turn to #authoritarian tactics... They figure out how to investigate right-wing nationalistic parties in Europe that spout racist tropes and cozy up to the Russians. Nevertheless, too few are willing to engage in exacting, sober #journalism when it comes to domestic political coverage."

To refute lies:
Always LEAD with the TRUTH, not the lies.
DO **NOT** put the lies first in your tweets, headlines, and/or articles.
Giving lies primacy, gives them validity.
Give the truth primacy, not the lies.
