I'll also point out that besides following #Canadian #journos and media *here* you can also drink from the firehose directly. Almost every #news website publishing system sends out #RSS feeds. And, most RSS readers will navigate around paywalls to pull in the majority of the article as well (at least my fav, Yarr, does.). Why not get news right from source?

As more #journos and their publications make their way over here—and I find myself invariably following them as I did before—I realize the extent to which, over a decade, the birdsite had become for me almost exclusively a #newsfeed, and, because I was focused on consuming news, I rarely engaged with anybody. Yesterday, after picking up here where I'd left off over there, I found myself horribly, horribly unhappy. I don't want to do that anymore. I'd rather return to the #RSS feed reader.

I dont usually have much to say, but I like to listen & learn from the experts, #journos , respected #news sources, #BIPOC & #LGBTQ + communities, & random interesting folks I come across from around the world on.. well previously twitter. Now hopefully here.

@sociology @conradhackett so the #permaculture approach is to use #systemsthinking to reduce waste and work esp in #food or #nutrition production. And to just consume>waste less, especially if it came from far away off the farm. At #thanksgiving in a time of #malnourished #obesity and high fuel costs #american #Journos are gently suggesting we gorge and waste less and provide ways to do so. If food waste is over 1/3 of our climate temp rise problem we must each fix.
