In 1980, #Good Friday loomed heavily over #JoyDivision. Read how in this section of my manuscript, "We Have a Tomb on the Album Cover". There's art criticism, Dostoyevsky, the Bible, and much more.

My biggest #GenX glitch is that I feel like it is my responsibility to convert all the analog things to digital. Of late, I've been ripping whatever is in the vinyl collection that isn't already in the digital collection. It is quite a lot, actually, but I am really enjoying revisiting these records. I guess this is my way of building a local anti-Spotify. I'm doing a couple of records a week, as I have time. #Audacity #LPs #JoyDivision

I started this #JoyDivision book because the band's meant a lot to me over the years & there seemed something significant in it about lamentation and absence to explore. My 1 bio chapter exploded into 3, unexpectedly discovering that religion played key roles in a band for which God seems tremendously absent. But absence is what the book is about. It started as a pet think-piece, but I hope I've got something actually contributive. Joy Division is heavy. I show it's even heavier than you think.
