I'm appreciating more & more the (imo) healthy #Fediverse philosophy of trying to de-link our online self-worth from Twitter's statistics & ego manipulation

I turned off notifications for Favorites

I thought to do the same for Boosts, then realized that I use them a LOT to follow new people ie. balance is needed

Two weeks in the Fediverse:
My Home timeline is a cornucopia of amazing, interesting, varied, often #Trans-y things. SO much stuff I want to click on #JoyScrolling

On Local - it's fun, short toots, techy, younger, y'all are heavily estrogenated 😂 :flag_transgender:

On Federated - never go there, no time!!

On "Noise" - I have unfollowed very few (only if there no way to filter, ie lots of RTs from Twitter without context)

Give it time to learn, it's worth it 💜

@taylorlorenz main characters are such a bird-site mindset.. this is much more finding your folks; sharing good content and #JoyScrolling (as it tends to be a much more positive experience). It's not twitter here - and that's a good thing.

What I have been doing for 3 days is #JoyScrolling, and I love it.
