Musste beim Song "Chloroform" an meine Kindheit denken.
here's an enlarged and colored animation of how I probably did the #compositing of the ball outline over 4 pixel animation in an 8 pixel raster...

that was the #cpu already very outdated at the time... there was a basic plug-in module but we quickly switched to #assembler ... luckily there was an interpretative dialog assembler (IDAS) as a plug-in module đ€đŒ
the first #computer I was allowed to program was a KC85-1. A Z80 replica by VEB #robotron. The graphics were very simple...
In this thread I'm trying to give an overview of my graphic solutions for the original "Ausbruch" from 1988 on this 8bit cpu with 1 bit block graphics...
This machine had a graphics memory of only 960 bytes :-)

Warum?
Horst Völz made this to use for his #Z80/U880 developments for th KC-85 computer in the 80s.

I had a #C64 with a very limited BASIC that could not do any graphics or sounds (without resorting to something even less comfortable than assemby â numeric peeks and pokes).
One day my parents took me to friends whose son had an #Atari 800XL. I was blown away by how easy it was to get sounds out of that computer using pure BASIC!
All of this happed in the old DDR (GDR), so officially, these home computers did not exist.
The story of how I got hold of a machine language manual for the C64 is agent story material. It involved a meeting at the gate of VEB Mikroelektronik Wilhelm Pieck, MĂŒhlhausen, where the East German home computer #KC85/3 was in production at that time.
