So go write your senators and reps and demand they stop this legislation. It's horrific, and gives far too much censorship powers to attorney generals. Even Blackburn, the co-writer of it, admits she hopes to use it to silence trans people. This bill isn't about helping kids and keeping kids safe, but about eliminating from the Internet people they don't like.

This is a very, very bad bill.

As a resident of #Connecticut I wrote my Senator, the coauthor of #kosa, about my opposition.

I am opposed to the current KOSA bill and I ask you to not promote it further.

As part of a team that develops software and as a user of relatively small and open source social platforms, I worry that the broad language around age verification will pressure sites to practice age verification en masse as the least risky way to ensure compliance..."

Das Akronym steht für "Kids online safety act" und soll das Ziel haben Kinder im Internet zu schützen. Es soll elterliche Aufsicht stärken, den Zugang für Minderjährige zu Social Media einschränken und Verhindern, dass Kinder gefährlichen Content sehen.

Dies geht aber so weit, dass die Bestimmungen so weitgreifend sind, dass damit ein umfassender Zensur-Apparat entstehen könnte..
