Otro clásico que vuelve es Karateka, el primer juego creado por Jordan Mechner, el creador de Prince of Persia. Se trata de un juego de lucha y aventura donde debemos rescatar a la princesa Mariko de las garras del malvado Akuma. El juego saldrá para Switch y PS4 y tendrá una edición física con un libro de arte, una banda sonora y una figura del protagonista. Además, el juego incluirá un documental sobre la creación del juego con entrevistas a Jordan Mechner y otros desarrolladores.

I know very little about #Karateka and never played it either as it was before my time. This upcoming release of the game from Digital Eclipse looks super cool. Their new Gold Master Series looks so awesome! I hope a lot more games get this documentary treatment:

It's been really cool to have Oliver Sensei be a regular fixture in classes over the last 3 years. Some of his students have supplemented their classes with us as well. We've been able to train with #karateka from Australia, Okinawa, Argentina, Canada, Washington, California, Utah, Arkansas, Indiana, Louisiana, and other parts of Texas.

When I got promoted to nidan (2nd degree), I was evaluated during live online classes over several weeks by 7-9 black belts from all over the world ranking anywhere from 3rd dan all the way to 7th dan. I was also able to join other classes to follow along with other #dojo and learn how they do things. It was an amazing experience!

It makes me sad that so many of my fellow #karateka stopped participating in online training and instruction once the pandemic was "over" (which it isn't). Most of them saw it as an inconvenience rather than the fantastic learning opportunity and federation bonding experience that it was. It isn't a substitute, it is a valuable supplement.

It's a real pity that it didn't stick.

Surprised to find no #Wado or #WadoKarate hashtag when searching here. Any wado #karateka on here? I've done karate,on and off for 40 years. Stopped recently and switched to #Judo for a change. Loving it but it's a bit rough on my flabby old body 🤣. I've been interested to see how judo has helped me understand some of my karate #Kata better.
