The #MetGala is opulent and silly (this morning my UES mother saw people across the street from the Met waiting hours to get a glimpse of the stars this evening), but it does raise a lot of money for the museum so there’s that. But this year’s #KarlLagerfeld theme is SO BORING. A few years ago there was a theme that was essentially blasphemy (no I don’t recall the actual theme) and it was great. If they’re going to throw a ridiculous event, make it interesting. Make it creative!
