#Theatre performance of the year was definitely Kathryn Hunter as #KingLear at the #Globe this summer. And I so nearly didn’t go as I wasn’t in the mood for crowds or… anything really. I had forgotten who was in the title role (having booked just after my wife’s inquest) and couldn’t work out if it was a tiny man…? Truly one of those nights when you marvel: ‘I was here.’ https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2022/jun/19/king-lear-review-shakespeares-globe-kathryn-hunter #Shakespeare #KathrynHunter

Logging offfor the night and leaving you all with this spectacular moment from 'The Tragedy of Macbeth' (2021). Because -- holy shit -- this is minimalist perfection with maximum impact. Watch how she mimics a crow, for starters...
I haven't seen this adaptation of 'Macbeth', sadly, but I may be celebrating New Year's Eve with a streaming rental.

#Andor fans, if you haven't seen #KathrynHunter as the Witches in the recent Coen Bros Macbeth, you must take a look.
I'm fascinated what they're going to do with the character of Siril Karn, based on his Psycho-reminiscent relationship with his mother, played by Hunter. I have the feeling they're setting up in this season a scary turn in the next, as he is just the stuff of which Hannah Arendt-style "banality of evil" villains is made.
