Stunning conditions last night at the #Kelpies, #Falkirk.
Driving through the haar on my way home I approached Falkirk and could barely see the Kelpies from the road. I realised that as soon as they were lit up I could be in for a treat. Thankfully I was right @VisitScotland@twitter.com

I make no excuse for bringing this across from the birdsite. The fabulous #Kelpies, shrouded in haar last night.

In #Scotland storms at sea were believed caused by #Kelpies. Usually they appeared as blue men, although they could also assume the fearsome shape of a water horse. Boats could fall into the hands of malevolent kelpiesβunless the skipper could complete rhyming couplets and force the kelpie away from the vessel.

The Blue Men of the Minch or Storm Kelpies are blue-skinned men that inhabit the ocean between mainland Scotland and the northern Inner Hebrides. They conjure storms, sink ships & drown sailors and may be seen jumping in the water or sleeping below the surface. #FairyTaleTuesday
