In the 1975 referendum on Britain's membership of the European Communities, #Kinnock campaigned for Britain to leave the Common Market - that was a campaign led by Tony Benn

Kinnock was known as a left-winger, attacked Thatcher's handling of the Falklands War in 1982

Whatever you say, traditionally elections aren't held in winter for sound reasons.

We've now had 14 months continuous #Labour lead in every single poll - the longer that lead remains (it shows no sign of dropping from over 21%) the more fixed it is.

I understand #labour politicians being wary of over-confidence after #kinnock debacle - but this is a very different era & #starmer will not make that miss-step

Well that is not what polls say - and no #labour leader - not #foot, #kinnock, #milliband or #corbyn - has won from the #left of #labour since 1945 when there are a world war on and returning troops yearned for a new jerusalem

#wilson and #blair are the model for winning power, not #benn

The trouble with a counterfactual assertion like yours is it can neither be proved nor disproved. But it's a fact that #Wilson & #Blair won (3 times each), & #Foot, #Kinnock , #Milliband & #Corbyn all lost
