I’m hoping this will be the year I finally manage to see 365 #movies. I’m not planning to watch a movie every day ’cause that’s impossible with my schedule, but at the end of the year I’d like my #Letterboxd diary to say 365.

So, to kick off the year, I watched Knives Out [2019] again. I believe it’s a wonderfully crafted film with twists that manage to be entertaining even if you’ve seen the film before. This is the film that finally got me on board with Daniel Craig.

I managed to watch (and enjoy) Glass Onion in a timely fashion, so it seemed fitting that I finally get around to watching Knives Out.
Yep, enjoyed it a bunch. I heard there’s a 3rd movie in the works, so I’m looking forward to that.

Also #KnivesOut Teil 1, wenn man das so sagen kann, ist wesentlich besser als #knivesoutglassonion Teil 2. Teil 2 fehlt irgendwie der Sinn, zu viel Fantasterei, Teil 1 packt da mehr. Und vor allem: #AnadeArmas 😍

So we finally watched #GlassOnion and while this household is now 2/2 on correctly guessing the murderer before the halfway point of a #KnivesOut film and assuming we're wrong because it can't be that simple, I did not care, because Kate Hudson was visibly having the time of her life and I got to sigh a big dreamy sigh every time Janelle Monae came out in a new outfit, and really, these are things i want more from a film than plot.

a film clearly not aimed at Ben Shapiro but 100% aimed at me.

Illusion of realty was thin - it wasn’t Walt Disney’s EPCOT. Papier-mâché characters, mostly standing in the background. Just take a look at any still from #glassOnion: leading actors talk in the foreground, while the supporting NPCs are standing, arms down, in front of Greek island backdrop & plexiglass Tupperware. Greek tragedy.

Got to watch part 1 of #KnivesOut though.

I love the structure of #KnivesOut - that it shows how the “murder” occurs and then Marta spends the film trying to stay one step ahead of Benoit - very Columbo. And it feels intimate, her personal story with Blanc prodding around at the margins. You almost root against him!

Well, #GlassOnion was pretty dandy I thought. Very entertaining. I felt like I was out at the theatre really. In the future I expect those #KnivesOut films to be highly anticipated. More so than a #Bond.

Somehow Glass Onion surpassed the original Knives Out. A fun mystery with even more laughs and possibly the greatest cast put on screen since The Outsiders. Janelle Monae is such an incredible talent and it’s been so much fun to watch her career unfold.

Just finished #GlassOnion a #KnivesOut mystery on #netflix - and loved everything about it. Won’t say much more other than if you liked the first film then I’m sure you’ll like this one. Congrats to Rian Johnson and cast for a captivating two and a bit hours of murder mystery suspense.
