New source of potent greenhouse gas found in Siberian permafrost

According to a recent study conducted on #Kurungnakh Island and published in the Nature Communication scientific journal, rising #Arctic temperatures are causing the island’s #permafrost to thaw. This thaw is causing the release of #NitrousOxide (#N2O), the third-most powerful #GreenhouseGas after #CarbonDioxide and #methane, from the permafrost.
