#SSH-Tunneling is nifty and easier as well as faster to setup than #WireGuard, #OpenVPN and espechally #IPsec as well as #L2TP.

Maybe those were just keepalive & padding packets and those didn't get omnitted by the Server?
Would be kinda bad but not uncommon on other protocols like #PPTP, #L2TP, #IPsec & #OpenVPN...

I'd also not be surprised if said server and/or VPN config do some sort of MSS clamping or affix MTU to a few select options for efficient use of Ports and/or bandwith to MUX clients together...

Also #WireGuard will lilely try to kesp latency low.

I'm testing #WireGuard as a replacement for my #L2TP/#IPSec #VPN setup and so far I'm happy. Works like a charm. WireGuard was so easy to setup compared to L2TP/IPSec (on #MikroTik).

Кстати, на днях наконец-то сделал сеть между домашними роутерами через WireGuard.

На роутере без аппаратного ускорения шифрования скорость выросла с ~20-25 мегабит до ~40 (возможно была бы выше будь хороший канал с обеих сторон). Заодно убрал L2TP и упростил конфигурацию.

По факту сам WireGuard я настроил достаточно давно, но из-за рудиментов L2TP он был сломан, т.к. на одном из роутеров был маршрут через адреса L2TP-сети и хоть пакеты ТУДА уходили нормально, ОБРАТНО ответы уже не возвращались.

В общем, слава WireGuard и RouterOS 7.
