Hello! Better late than never, I’ve just published an event report from Linux App Summit 2023 that took place this year in one of my favorite cities in Central Europe - Brno, Czechia.

Thank you to all our amazing attendees and sponsors who made the #LAS2023 a huge success! Your support and engagement made the event truly special. Let's continue to bring the global Linux community together to learn, collaborate, and help grow the Linux application ecosystem.
Had many good discussions at #LAS2023 on the final pieces in the puzzle to roll out #UnifiedPush on Linux. I've tried to summarize the main points here: https://volkerkrause.eu/2023/04/29/las-2023-push-notifications.html #KDE
@larma @krafter @tbernard @unifiedpush Right, all building blocks for that exist, we still need a portal API though and there's a few interoperability corner cases to be sorted out. I had a talk at #LAS2023 on exactly that subject.
https://unifiedpush.org/ is a good starting point to dig into this.
At the Linux Apps Conference 2023 #LAS2023 (sic., that's really GNU/Linux), Dor Askayo talks about making the Freedesktop SDK project bootstrappable, bringing the benefits of a clear dependency graph of fully auditable code and a build process independent from the previous binary version of Freedesktop SDK (which depended on its previous binary version, which...).
Lovely to see how quickly they took full advantage of us closing the gap between Stage0 and GNU Mes!
I have a lot to say about #LAS2023, #Linux, and my old #podcast Linux For Everyone. So those thoughts might be scattered or confined to this thread, but here we go because things need to be said!
First: @sri was dead-on when he described LAS as a family reunion. Such a warmth and feeling of camaraderie to the event. I made new friends, new work connections, and forged some new pathways in my brain thanks to eye-opening talks.
Some of those talks inspired me to take action...
Just donated 70€ to KDE because 7 of these nice Konqui were sold at last weekend's #LAS2023 @kde More coming at @eslibre @opensouthcode and of course @akademy
A new #Flathub website launched at #LAS2023 last weekend! 🎉 The redesigned site brings a fresh look and a verification feature. Developers can now log in and verify ownership of their apps, earning a blue check mark. Check it out here: https://flathub.org/

PSA: This weeks Weekly #MobileLinux Update will be delayed by one day.
Sorry about this - if you don't know what to do tonight, watch the #LAS2023 live recordings - the #GNOMEMobile session is excellent!

@killyourfm Thanks (#Thunderbird) for sponsoring #LAS2023, your positive spirit and humor… and by the way: A BIG „Thank you“ for the great shirt. 😉
First time MeetingPoint runs on a phone!
Video sharing (from the builtin camera) and audio also works. Its in the GNOME shell-dev room.
