When did audio get decent, my HD599's just died so grabbed some spare HD458BT's and enabled bluetooth on my desktop for the first time ever, immediately connects with apt-x HD and sound quality is pretty damn ok. And not having a cable is very nice indeed, has got me thinking maybe I should grab some BT cans with support...

Ok so this is cool.
I got a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT2 and they support Multipoint.

I've played around with multipoint on the Sony WH-1000XM4s but the ATHs are on a different level.

On the Sonys, you can't use while using multipoint.

The ATHs don't care. My laptop only supports , my phone supports LDAC. The headphones switch to the codec that's in use on the fly. So when I play from my phone, it's LDAC, and from my laptop it's AAC.

Since I just shared some advice on in ear monitors I can also share it here:

If your /#earphones or 's hurt, and you're using ones with a nozzle+replaceable tip construction, chances are the nozzle has a too large diameter. Many (most?) nozzles are 5mm in diameter or nozzle size "T400". There are other sizes out there, notable T100 (3mm). Some manufacturers produce mostly T100 (or T200) nozzles, such as Shure (although a bit pricy). An easy way to find T100 models is to go to the website of comply who manufacture foam tips in various sizes, select T100 and look for the supported models in the compatibility tab:
complyfoam.com/products/comply

Additionally, I can recommend buying earphones with detachable cables. The plug is standardized (e.g. MMCX) which means you can a) replace broken cables and b) use the ear unit from say Shure with the module from LinSoul and switch between wireless and wired. You can also upgrade from Bluetooth 4 to when it will be more available or to BT modules that support , , or other special audio codecs whenever you feel like it. This prolongs the life time of your product.
