Helena Molony, born #OTD in 1883, was one of #77Women on the 1916 commemoration quilt. We ❤️ her panel "She'd take on Finn McCool"
As well as leading roles in Cumann na mBan, IWWU and later INTO, Helena set up Bean na hÉireann magazine and was first ‘political prisoner’ in 1911. Lived with partner, psychiatrist Evelyn O’Brien in later years

Louie Bennett was born #OTD in 1870. Founding member of Irish Women's Suffrage Movement, leader of Irish Women's Workers Union for years. First female president of Irish Trade Union Congress. Edited Irish Citizen newspaper, published 2 novels. Joined Labour Party, served as councillor in Dun Laoghaire. Louie lived with partner Helen Chenevix, co-founder of IWFM. Violet Florence Martin, one half of writing partnership Somerville and Ross, died #OTD in 1915. With life partner (and second cousin) Edith Somerville, wrote the Irish RM and 14 other books.
