Ich stelle fest: #LMDE 5 läuft selbst auf einem USB-Stick der Niederklasse unerwartet gut. Wenn das weiter so geht, könnte es das #Windows zum größten Teil ersetzen ^^

Ich bin begeistert. Mit #Plasma Desktop , läuft rund und flott auf meiner 12 Jahre alten Kiste, und schön schauts nebenbei auch noch aus.

Das war wirklich ein erstaunliches Erlebnis heute und ich bin immernoch extrem begeistert wie einfach es war.

Ich gebe aber auch zu, das der vorherige drucker 5 Minuten gebraucht hatte für das Setup.
Aber immerhin noch besser Öls die Odyssee die ich heute mit Windows hatte.

@patbf The Mint team has done amazing things, work on #MATE, #Cinnamon, their #Debian base alternative with #LMDE vs #LinuxMint with #Ubuntu is fantastic and i applaud them for that.

It's just really too much though to have someone come off so arrogant when they obviously have a lot they could be learning from us here.

@patbf Honestly, i'm not intending on dissing #LinuxMint.

They've done fantastic work on that distro and i've put #LMDE on many a machine for beginners over the years.

It's just the way that whole thing shook down. It's honestly the first #troll i've had here on this account thus far.

Should've known though, it was someone who uses #Twitter and is #CrossPosting. That's about what i'd expect.

@dropbear42 @Tionisla @eggmont @TheADHDHobbyist This is great advice about trying lots of distros in VM's. LiveUSB's are probably better since you can do the same and instantly know how well it might or might not work with your hardware OOTB.

When i hear people are using #Ubuntu and may be new to #Linux i offer other options they may be very comfortable with. That's why #KDENeon or #LMDE are ones i often speak of.

And this person BTW asked for our opinions specifically, that's the OP's intent.

@frankiesaxx Exactly! #LinuxMint has taken its place for me and perhaps many others as that stable, easy OOTB distro for newbies.

#LMDE though was the one i installed for many first time users instead, it broke less than the #Ubuntu based Mint many years ago i found.

@frankiesaxx I have also used vanilla #Debian after #Ubuntu many years ago, i also like many Debian fans checked out #LinuxMint. For me i was the biggest fan of #LMDE

(#LinuxMIntDebianEdition) which is Mint based on Debian vs the main distro of theirs which uses Ubuntu as its base.

I now use #KDENeon as a second option in my #DualBoot because my focus there is #KDE #KDEPlasma #KDEFrameworks and the latest updates KDE releases. I'm a big KDE fan and #UbuntuLTS just works well for that.

@denizen_uk I somewhat enjoyed the time spent with #Cinnamon desktop on a few distros i've tried for fun.

Ultimately i'm a #KDE / #KDEPlasma fan and have been for a long time so #Gnome has never really been my focus.

#MATE was something i loved though many years ago now on #LMDE. Cinnamon is a nice alternative to it for the same reasons.

Anyone have experience with #Linuxmint #LMDE 3 (#Cindy)? I want to run this as a dual boot. In addition to Linux mint 19.2 (#Tina).

Next weekend upgrade to Tina (19.2 xfce, 32 bit). And add the #LinuxMint #LMDE 3 32bit (Cindy) to it.
