The #Landsat 9 satellite has lifted off from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California aboard a @ULALaunch Atlas V rocket at 2:12pm ET.

Through years of research, development, and testing, Virginia Norwood created the multispectral scanner system that flew on the very first #Landsat satellite and is considered the mother of the Earth-observing satellite series. 🛰️
