@mustapipa It may be that this cluster was formed in an HII region / Ambarzumian association similar to the Tarantula Nebula https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarantula_Nebula#NGC_2070 . Many 'irregular' galaxies have such regions, possibly formed by the destabilizing effect of tidal forces. Lots of hot blue stars that burn out quickly to become supernovas.

here's another I shot from the same telescope - the #DanishTelescope at #ESO #LaSilla #Observatory in #Chile. I'm inside observing. The #stars are rotating around the South Celestial Pole. To the right of the dome at the start you can see the #LargeMagellanicCloud and to the left near the end the #SmallMagellanicCloud. Both are satellite galaxies of the #MilkyWay.

117 followers · 243 posts · Server astronomy.city@Toniwastronomy Oh I know it's the 3rd largest, it's just that it is only ~5x the size of the #LargeMagellanicCloud, and some of the newest research shows the LMC may be way more massive than we thought, so maybe the #LMC is not a dwarf galaxy any more if this update gets verified?
