November 18th and we still have three or four plants on the back deck producing flowers. Not a lot of flowers, and none big, but there they are: still looking for a hot time with bugs that just aren't showing up.
Here, the pinks, Dianthus, the brightest of the lot.

Late bloomer -- very pink yarrow near a neighbourhood pond that has a good path for walking around. We walk around it a lot.
November seventh seems late but the yarrow's not alone in opening its flowers in hopes of getting lucky. There were others.

Blue striped Linaria, still blooming on the 6th of November.
St John's, Newfoundland
No killing frost yet on the dianthus in the box outside our door. The jet stream continues to come at us from the south, not the west.
And here, on the 6th of November, the dianthus is still showing its faces to our kitchen door.
The seeds for these pinks, "volunteers" a friend calls them, arrived by bird or wind. They have bloomed in this otherwise disused box since early July month. I collected seeds from them two months ago when there were still bees and the like about the flowers to do the necessary work for seeds. I'll plant them myself next year.
