Updating #LaunchBar actions is an unsolved problem. @prenagha built a great action to make it a little easier. But it can take quite some time if you have a lot of actions installed. So I tried a different approach. The idea is to download (or clone) a whole Github repo of actions. Then this action compares the actions in the downloaded folder with your installed actions.
I’m wondering if this might be a better workflow:
1) Use @launchbar for all the things it’s good at (launch apps, actions, etc)
2) Use Spotlight for file searches (as it’s already indexing everything)
What would I miss if I’d set on this approach?

Sending a file to a #shortcut via #LaunchBar is really nice and finally working on Ventura with the lastest update (6.18). Also automatic theme switching. 🫶🏻
@macfixer @agiletortoise @flargh I probably use #LaunchBar more then anybody (just check out my list of custom actions ;) https://ptujec.github.io/launchbar).
But I still have a pretty organized Launchpad, which I occasionally open with a trackpad gesture. If all you do is launching apps it's actually pretty nice. You can assign a hotkey to it in settings and even type to narrow down results. It's not as smart and flexible as LaunchBar but probably good for most casual launcher users.
If you use #LaunchBar Snippets in VS Code, you probably want to set "editor.pasteAs.enabled" to false in VS Code settings. If you don't use Snippets, you're missing out. Also, don't judge me for using VS Code ;).
I just updated one of my most used #LaunchBar actions - Paste Date - with new icons, some additional features and more format flexibility.

I made a new version of my #LaunchBar action for #Phind, which is primarily designed to send code to it with "Instant Send".

I set up #LaunchBar freshly on another machine for testing. Turns out that "Show all subtitles" (Settings/Appearance) is turned off by default. If you see something in my screenshots that does not show up for you, that might be the reason.
I am happy to announce a new @launchbar action for @zotero. Search, browse, and act on items from your local Zotero database with your favorite launcher.

Originally just a prompt idea, now turned into two separate actions. Need more colors? #LaunchBar #ColorPicker.

I added a new prompt to my #LaunchBar action for #chatGPT. It generates a random color palette based on a color value in the clipboard.
Plus, now you can choose an editor to display the results in.

@com @launchbar All of the above wasn't an option. I deliberately use Alfred, LaunchBar, and Raycast on three Macs, and Spotlight every so often when the deep integration into macOS is useful. LaunchBar is my long time favorite. Alfred and Raycast have feature sets that I want to stay on top of. #raycast #launchbar #alfred
Weasel got some friends. I rewrote my #ChatGPT action for #LaunchBar.

Love coming home after a day away to this.
This should make some people really happy. It's the details that matter. And I may or may not have a small part in this. I guess we will never know. 😉 #Shortcuts #LaunchBar /cc @jsnell @matthewcassinelli @viticci
@sylumer sorry for the delay, this fell under our radar. Thanks for pursuing the topic! Launchers are so important. #alfred, #launchbar etc. For authors who might not know we have https://hookproductivity.com/help/automation/
Nothing to see here. Just a boring currency converter action for #LaunchBar.

I'm still conflicted about chat bots and slightly annoyed by the hype around them. But of course I can't resist playing around with them. Using #LaunchBar to ask chatGPT questions and #iAWriter to display the results works surprisingly well.
An advantage of using the action is that you can open logins in a browser other than your default by holding ⌥.

Would you like @LaunchBar and @1Password to be friends again? I have news for you! 🎉
