In my local news, an unconfirmed ransom ware attack on Empire corporation which affects Lawtons pharmacy and Sobeys grocery stores. Being that’s it’s a small IT community here and no one likes the oligarchs that are the Sobeys family , word coming out is it’s ransomware. The point of sale terminals work in “offline” mode and can handle about 30 days of transactions worth but the Deli or seafood sections where they meter out and print labels don’t work, pharmacy in store and in lawtons cannot fulfill prescriptions .. that’s a lot of customer data.
