@PopOfAfrica Real question: For EU users, what would be 's legal basis under for the processing of personal data from non-Meta users for purposes other than making work?

Real question: Why is it legal for companies to be incorporated at a place other than where their is?

Wouldn't making those places automatically the same prevent ?

In less than 2 weeks, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments that involve Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. How the court rules may have significant implications for operators of Mastodon instances. You might want to put on your calendar for Feb 21st and 22nd.

Iā€™ve been wondering:

Do @tapbots, Iconfactory and their users have a legal case against Twitter?

Feels like, TOU aside, there has to be some principle of dependency here. People expected and made investments/expenditures expecting the business to behave normally and it didnā€™t, creating devastating liabilities for these companies.

@48kRAM I wonder how much legal standing this hasā€”in a legal contract you normally can't just sign away basic duty of care[1].

Where's when you need it.

Real question to :

What does a service "normally provided for remuneration" as defined in Directive (EU) 2015/1535) mean?

Are these all services where similar types are usually offered for payment? Or does *your service* need to be for remuneration in order to be covered by this definition?

I think the answer to this will determine to what extent instances must comply with , and similar laws, won't it?

Question for : With Musk proclaiming that Twitter intentionally did not protect against child exploitation and other stuff.... Doesn't that create any liability to his now own company?

No one knows anything yet. Letā€™s wait for the evidence before we judge it.
